Teaching the ABC in a bilingual family

I am not a native English speaker and speak my native language most of the time with my babies. My 2-year old has started to show great interest in the letters and alphabet and I wonder how i could teach her. She has always loved reading and owns books in both languages. She speaks to me in English all the time although sometimes throws in a few French words (probably to make me happy...). Would love to hear about other people's experience since I just do not feel comfortable teaching her the ABC in English. The problem is, when i show her a picture she says the word in English and of course it does not often match with the letter I am trying to teach her.

Try getting her the Alphabet puzzles (just the alphabet), it's wooden.... it's very useful teaching the child the actual alphabet. My daughter also had this problem, I show her a picture of an apple or airplane, she will say " apple" or "airplane" rather than "A". So, now since doing the puzzles, and also getting cards that only has the alphabet (no pictures of objects), she knows her alphabet from A-Z, and she sings the song too. She's not year three years old.

Why not pick objects that begin with the same letter in each language?

A - avion; aeroplane

B - bottle; bouteille

C - carotte; carrot

etc.
