US visa for helper

ORIGINAL POST

We have a wedding in NY in September and I wish to take the helper as I will be travelling alone with a 2 and 3 year old.

Looked at the US consulate site and it seems I have to create another contract with them based on US laws (such as agreeing to pay US domestic helper minimum wage etc) and stating the hours they will work etc.

Wondering what others normally do. Can they just apply for a normal holiday visa and what is the likelyhood of them getting that granted?

Any one with experience in this?

The chance of anyone getting a US tourist visa while they have a HK visa in their passport showing they are a DH here is zip.

However, you may - may - be able to get her a B-1 visa, as below, as long as you draw up a US employment contract etc and she meets all the other requirements. Details in this link:

The contract is easy to make. We just typed one up with exactly what they asked for (and nothing more) and our helper got the B-1 visa.
