Which area is best for piano lessons on HK island side?

I am planning to set up a piano studio on HK island side as I already have one in Clearwater Bay, and one in Kowloon, but I keep missing out the potential students on HK island side b/c I don't have a studio there, but I am wondering which area would moms think is most convenient as students in HK and parents are so busy and on tight schedule, I don't want to rent a place that is NOT going to get me many students.

Thanks for any advice.

I am not familiar with the location of the good schools on HK island side... that's why I am asking.

Speaking quite selfishly, the southside would work for us (assuming that you take very young children). Have you thought about using one of the clubs?

The schools are widely dispersed; Braemar Hill, Pokfulam, Aberdeen, Jardine's Lookout, Peak, Repulse Bay etc., so that does not narrow it down much.

Hi mum of 2, thanks for your reply. Funny thing, I spoke with someone today who also advised me to use "club houses" ... when you say "clubs" what are you referring to ? I would love to find out more about it.

Thanks again.

Somewhere like the American Club, the Cricket Club or the Aberdeen Marina Club. Not sure how it would work, as most of the classes that are run in these clubs are fairly mobile (ballet etc.), guessing that it is not quite as straightforward with piano lessons (can hardly pack a baby grand away in a bag after every class).

Thank you both for your information. I will look into some of these "clubs". Might not be that easy.... cuz wouldn't that mean only "members" are allowed in and out thess "clubs" or residents of the "club houses"?

Katetam, we live on the southside, and i know a lot of parents on the southside is lookng for something close by so helpers can bring the kids to their lessons. how about the shopping complex at THE Repulse Bay.

Don't think private clubs would work - you will have a members only issue.

The Repulse Bay is a good suggestion (www.therepulsebay.com). It is not too far from any of the Southside locations (if that is what you're aiming at). Repulse Bay itself is primarily residential (very high concentration of expats). Most of the shops are concentrated in the development suggested, although there are some more on Beach Road.

As far as the clubs are concerned, I may be corrected on this, but think that many of them have separate prices for members and non-members (so does not necaessarily rule non-members out). Obviously this varies from club to club. If you find a club with enough child members who are likley to sign-up, you may be at capacity anyway.

the repulse bay is the bulding with the hole - you won't miss it if you take a drive along that area. in the complex itself, there is a dry cleaner, doctor's office, photo shop, few restaurants, 2 kindy schools, a supermarket, pacific coffee - and i am sure a few more that i can't seem to think of now. it would be great if Dymocks can set up shop there too! and also Citysuper or Great will be nice too!
