Mei Tai style baby carrier in HK

Hi, does anyone know where I can find a mei tai style baby carrier in HK? There are some beautiful ones available on the internet if you have a spare US$80 or I can get one in China but covered in Hello Kitty or similar cartoon characters. I've tried slings and they don't work for me and other baby carriers give me back ache so I hope this type might work.

Thanks

Try the Wet Markets, especially in the New Territories.

They seem to have different styles - some with more fabric, some with mesh, etc...

It will be interesting to learn what you decide on and how you like it.

Hmm... Sorry but the only Mei Tai I have seen in Wet Market wasn't really nice looking to put it diplomatically, nothing compare to those you find on Internet.

If you do find some nice, I am really interested! I bought mine EUR50, in France.

I was at Tsan Yuk hospital yesterday and popped into the little baby shop on Eastern street (does anyone else love this shop - they are sooooo sweet in there!) anyway, they had some for HK$49 in camouflague - the only problem is it didn't have the waist strap but I figure if I like it that's easy enough to add on myself. Not tried it yet but I'll let you know.

I did also pop along to the wet market on Centre Street while I was there but didn't find any - but I was in a huge rush by that point.

So how is it working ?

Do you like it ?

Does it has any loop or is it only fabric ?

What kind of material is it ?

Would you mind sending me a picture ?

Thanks,

It's working really well - even my husband agrees it's pretty good. Sorry, I don't have a pic but it's v simple and has adjustable straps and clasps to click into - I'm going to go to a tailor and get it altered to become one that you tie and to add on a waist strap though for a bit of extra support. It's just made out of a heavy durable cotton.

HTH's!

Ooh, camouflage sounds good and v. cheap too! I'm at Tsan Yuk next week so I'll have a look. I'll send you a pic, Sylvie, if it works...

This may not be just what you're looking for, but there's a hong kong site called www.nappypooh.com that carries several slings, they looked interesting to me :-)

Hmmm... I'm sorry but no, it's a little difficult to recognise you like this...

But I'm still interested in your pic if you're not too mad at me ;-)

Thanks a lot!
