US and china taxes?

Hi. I am a US expat representing a company basedin California. A couple weeks ago, a Chinese IRS representative visited my office in Pudong and said that they need my last years's tax return from the US, so they know how much to charge me for taxes. Does anyone know how the tax system works for US expatriates? Am I better off paying Chinese taxes and (hopefully) not paying US taxes, or will I have to Pay US taxes regardless? (I heard about some China-US relation that any taxes I pay here in CHina, it is credited when i file my US tax return...but I wouldn't really count on a full "credit", if you know what I mean). Or, should I just keep having my taxes taken out of my US paycheck and try to pay minimal Chinese tax? Any advice would be appreciated...thanks :)

If you get income from China, you should pay the Chinese taxes for it. And US IRS should reduce this part of taxes for you.

Whether you get income from China is not determined by where your income is wired to. Having work in full-time in the rep office in China, that should be income from China.
