I have had nothing but help from taxi drivers when I am with my baby - including drivers showing me photos of their babies!
I guess everyone has a bad day. I remember the press article a few years ago about a taxi driver refusing to help get a wheelchair in or out of the boot. But overall, most are very helpful and friendly in my experience.
There is a numver you can call for htings left in taxis - check the practical forum, it was there recently, do a search.
