English speaking kids entering local schools?

Hi,

My kids are aged 9 and 6. They are English speaking kids who can only speak very minimal Chinese and attending ESF School right now.

My husband has recently lost his job and we can't afford the school fees anymore. It is very unlikely that we will leave this country coz I still have a working contract here.

I desparately need advise if we can place them into local schools at all?

Thanks!

If I were you, I would call the CAB: they give advice to the English-speaking community in HK. See

ESF claim to have an assistance programme for 'hardship' cases - you might want to check that out first. Speak to Chris Forse at ESF Centre.
