Help! Do I have a case here?

My case is against a beauty salon.

I was there for a treatment and in the

treatment room, the beautician requested me

to remove my rings and said she would leave

them in the pockect of the robe. (I didn't see

all these happening since I was already lying

on the treatment bed).

I only realised the next morning that I did not

retrieve the rings from the robe. Went back to the salon and obviously they were gone!

My case is, I was not informed and it was not stated anywhere in the salon that one should remove rings before the treatment (or I would have locked it up in the locker). And if the

staff asked me to remove them, isn't her responsibility to make sure I have them back?

I was there for a relaxing treatment, and in the first place, I'm not used to putting my rings in the pocket.

Unfortunately, it's my engagement & wedding rings.(a value of USD 15,000) but it meant more to me than that...

Could anyone recommend a lawyer? If I have a case.

Thanks

Whose robe? Hers or yours?

It will be an "she said" versus "she said" argument and you will be standing on quicksand!

It appears that you might have become a victim of theft or you might misplace the ring. For the former, it involves serious criminal liability against the beautician or the salon. You are advised to attend our law firm, Messrs. Weir & Associates so that we can provide detailed analysis of your case and advice to you. Our charge is HK$2,500 for the initial interview. Alternatively you can go through the process reporting it to the police but be prepared to spend hours in the process
