Has anybody had any experience using this in Hong Kong? How does it handle? Is it safe? Any comments appreciated... Thanks!

I used it--we didn't have a car and it was the only way I knew of at the time (I did loads of research on this) to take my newbie with me in a taxi and properly in a carseat, and then be able to clip the carseat into wheels to do whatever we needed to do. It's not snazzy looking, but it did the trick and had a nice big basket under for all the stuff I'd accumulate during these errands. The carrier collapsed easily and fit well into a taxi trunk--much easier than any of the travel systems I uncovered in my research. Once we graduated to a proper buggy, I realized the Kolcraft's big wheels were a bit stiff and not as easy to manage as our buggy, but at the time they seemed fine.

Since then though, Quinny has come out with a line of something quite similar, and better looking. (Quinny's are compatable with Maxi Cosi carseats.) I'm not in the market, so haven't really looked at the Quinny's, but one thing I'd want again is some sort of a carrier underneath for all the bags, diaper bags etc. It get's awfully heavy to carry that stuff over your shoulder, particularly in the summer. You can check their website for the whole line, but B2B's and Mothercare carry at least some of the Quinny's.

I still have our Kohlcraft and the carseat, will sell them (inexpensively) if you're interested :-)

Hi My Thoughts, thanks so much for your review and you Kolcraft offer! I ended up getting the Quinny Zapp and the MaxiCosi car seat (spotted a special deal on at Ocean Terminal) so I won't need this after all. I do think the carseat-on-wheels is a great idea for a newborn though -- I am quite petite and was pretty intimidated by the size and weight of most travel systems I tried out. At least the Quinny - MaxiCosi system is really easy to handle and gives me confidence to get out and about when everything is scary and new.
