Determination is the key to losing weight.


A healthy way of losing weight is to drink lemon water - half a lemon in a jar of water, don't need to squeeze it. Leave in jar for at least ten minutes before drinking it. Stick to a vegetable diet and white meat for a month. Refrain from carbohydrates when eating vegeatables and meat. You would need to do exercise on top of this of course.


It worked for my husband who was 200 pounds and lost 35 pounds in two months.

At let me guess he gained most or all of it back right after going off the diet.


Dieting is pointless. You need a lifestyle change. Go to a nutritionist and get a proper diet (not Diet). Get into a regular exercise regime.


Anything else is a total waste of time

I agree, spinning is very good or any cardio really, I had to loose weight for my wedding and besides spinning, you have to really watch what you eat, don't have butter or anything fatty and have soup or a light salad at about 5pm for dinner, and NO SNACKING!!!! also no bread. you have to be strict with yourself!!

weight training also really helps. not only does it firm you up (don't worry you won't end up with huge muscles) but it also means that you burn more calories at rest. i alternate my cardio and weight training and have found a huge improvement since i increased the days i do weights on. i haven't lost huge amounts of weight (just less than one pound a week) but i have lost lots of inches which is way more important.

I agree.


I lost 3 stone in 6 months by a heavy weightraining regime,no carbs,no booze,no fat.


The body needs carbs to build muscle.If you are weightraining,the body can then only use the fat in your body to feed the muscle if there are no carbs (from food ) to do the job

thanks for your replies, i appreciate them, i have just hired a treadmill, please tell me , what you think i need to be doing daily to lose weight, 30mins,2k, 600cal????thanks guys

At least 45 minutes at a decent pace.But try to do some weighttraining as well.


Think about it-If you lift a leg weight for your thighs 20 times,you'd have to run about 15 K to get the same effect !

Use up more energy than you eat. set yourself small goals, like today i am going to walk to the MTR instead of taking the bus. goals you know you can and will achieve. if you are always setting yourself goals like, go to the gym everyday, its less likely you'll stick to it.

For me the best way to loose weight fast is to avoid complex carbs.. White bread pasta rice potatoes ECT, you can eat whole grain though.. but keep to a minimum.. you will probably feel less bloated too, Salt and alcohol cause water retention leading to celulite.. so avoid those.. find an active hobby.. dont go down the gym 3 times a week if you dont even like it cos you will never stick at it! do something you enjoy.. dance class.. tennis.. climbing.. anything!

dont restrict your self too much.. sometimes these things are in the mind.. if you tell yourself you cant have it you will want it more.. so tell yourself you can have anything! and you just wont want it as much.. and if you do want it.. have it.. just dont indulge!

hi if you really want to lose weight fast try the 3 day diet, it works for me you can lose 10 pound in 3 days i thought it was crazy but i tried it and it works!!! do exercise along with it!!

onefreespirit: would you be kind enough to put something together for me as well? Been going to the gym for a few months now. Have only lost 2 kg so far, but can see/feel my waistline getting slimmer.

Just want to make sure if I'm doing the right thing.

I use the machine (don't know the name - the one that looks like a ski :P) for 25 min, then do some weightlifts for arms and legs for another 10-15 mins.
