Am flying back to UK in a few weeks and was booked on BA flight there and back. I have an inherent fear of flying and have heard today that i will now be flying Quantas on the way over. Would like to hear if anyone have flown them to UK and any experiences - good, bad or indifferent!
Thanks

As anyone who has watched Rainman knows, Qantas is the only major airline that has never had a fatal crash. (Well, except Virgin.) Service is the same as BA.

I too have a fear of flying and have flown with Quantas to the UK several times now.
I have always found them very helpful and as I always try for a night flight there is always a stewardess who will spend a few extra minutes talking and reassuring me that everything is OK while most of the plane sleeps.
Hope this helps.

Hi there. firstly there really is nothing to fear, flying is a lot safer than driving. I've been a flight attendant for 10 years with ba and have many an experience with nervous passengers so we all understand how you feel. My advice would be to tell the flight attendants how yu feel, they will then look after you and if you have any questions - ask. its amazing how much better you'll feel once you know what the noises are and why things like turbulence happen. if i can help further let me know but honestly just try and stay calm and you'll be fine.

Talk to your GP about whether a mild sedative would be appropriate in your case. But be sure to try it before your trip to see if you have any negative reactions. I was terrified of having an MRI (claustrophobia) and a sedative really helped.
Also, consider hypnosis. A friend of mine, who was very skeptical, had great success with Dr. Kitty Sak (2882-9868) in a very short time. At the very least, she can teach you some relaxation techniques.
