HK-Shenzhen visa for British Passport

ORIGINAL POST

I know this has been asked before, but since the rules keep changing, what is the policy du jour? Is it possible to get a visa into Shenzhen at the Lowu border if you hold a British passport?

British Passports can get a temporary visa for 5 days for $ 450 HKD.

At least last I saw in May 2006.

its really easy to get a visa at the border Brits can get one no problem ($450). Only reason to get one beforehand is if you are wanting to go out of the SEZ. AS someone points out the only nationality forbidden is the USA.

Thanks for your help, everybody.

Brit, have you got a visa at the border recently? I find that there is a lot of contradictory info on this thread as to whether or not it is actually possible to get a visa on the border. It would be great to hear from somebody who has either done so, or been turned away, preferably in the last few weeks.

Hi - spoke to a friend last night who went a month ago - no problem.

I'm not sure why there is confusion - certainly for the last 3 years I have never had an issue. I think pre 2003 there were issues with British passport holders but not since then.
