I am moving to HK, and plan on taking my Sony HDTV, DVD player and DVDs with me. As long as I get a NTSC to PAL converter, I should be able to use my TV and DVD player to watch my DVDs as well as watch regular cable channels, correct? I would also need to buy either all region or region 1 DVDs only in HK, since I would be using my US DVD player. Do HK DVD stores sell all region and region 1 DVDs? Any help answering the above questions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Agree with A4XGR. Don't bring any of that. Apart from the reasons mentioned, your US-made items may run off a different electrical power and plug type. The TV line system is also different, I think. Check especially before you ship the TV. For the others, you can get multi-system and multi-region players here cheaply. DVDs from all regions (and from "no region") are commonly sold here, and should you find yourself in possession of copied DVDs, as many people do, they tend to play best on the cheapest players.
