What you will do when you are facing legal problems in China? As a foreigner, you may feel difficult to solve all kinds of problems here because of language and culture obstacle. But more improtant, you are not familiar with Chinese laws and regulations. It is understandable you may need legal advice before you take steps to solve the problem that is disturbing you. I have enough experience with Chinese laws, lawyers and the court system here; I am none too well impressed by what it may do in your favour if you really need legal protection!
The laws are in fact pretty straightforward and rational - no doubt because they have been adopted from European books of statutes.
The problems lie in the humans that administer those laws; you can't count on them or their understanding of the law's intentions!
The Chinese psyche is too inured to thinking that everything revolves around who you know and you you are "friends" with...
