I have heard that H&M will open sometime in 2007 and the store will be in Central at the old Lane Crawford location!

Yes -- that's what it said in the SCMP this morning too.

A great cheap clothes shop a bit like ZARA. Very famous everywhere in Europe and originally from Sweden. Very good for casual clothes

Only a few phrases left over from a brief spell there in 1987 I'm afraid.

Fingers crossed that they bring with them 'normal women sizes' and don't just cater for the local Asian market. I'm looking forward to a change from M&S clothes!

"normal women sizes"....hmm....so you mean plus plus sizes? I think you might be a bit out of luck here

No Carmine - In Western terms I mean 'normal women sizes', like the ones that H&M stock in their UK stores - but I guess if you're Asian that would be probably mean plus plus - you see, I actually have boobs and hips - those things which create curves on 'real women'.

Hey no need to take it as a offense here...dont get me wrong, I think voluptuous and plumb women are beautiful. As a matter of fact, many of my Italian women friends are wondering the same thing.

CityS...
Quite possibly. I never learnt how to spell the phrases.

Agree with Mrs X - I would hardly call a size 12 at Zara (or medium) a plus size but would be a stretch to get a size 12 body into some of the non-Western sized clothes shops sizes.

City Slicker & TC - I can guess what you're implying - and quite frankly, if having real boobs and hips means 'McCurves' to you - then bring it on! If I've totally got the wrong end of the stick here, then ignore my comment.

Yes, City Slicker, I take your point, we are indeed in Asia, but there is a need for more 'Western' size clothes and there is definitely a huge (no pun intended!) market out there for them. My original post merely expressed my wish that H&M will stock more 'Western' (rather than 'normal') sizes. And yes, I guess my usage of the word 'normal' was a little inappropriate - apologies if I offended anyone.
Billybats - didn't intend my post to be rude, but if you read back over a couple of the other comments, I think it is they who are being rude, not I.

Mrs X - don't think your post was rude, just honest and if you look at the worldwide population general sizing is increasing.
Just come back form the UK and cannot get over how different the sizes are here and there. Cannot get into a size 12/14 here, but go back to River Island, Next, Principles, Monsoon, etc and their 12/14 are more than generous.
So if you are a petite 6/8/10 don't be offended if us women with boobs and hips call ourselves 'normal'.
