It is possible for a single person to adopt in Hong Kong - why not contact the adoptive parents association of HK- they would probably set you in the right direction.

For adoptions within Hong Kong you can contact Mother's Choice - www.motherschoice.com. In HK, married parents are preferred but singles can be accepted if you qualify. Many other countries including Vietnam and mainland China are open to single parents. You'll need to work with a licensed agency to do this and to choose an agency, your nationality is an important factor. I'm an American social worker living here in HK and my background is international adoptions. Feel free to e-mail me for more info: megan@homestudyinasia.com

Three months to one year to 2 years. Depends on many factors. There is a thread under "Moms & Dads" where several adoptive families have posted how long their adoption process in Hong Kong has taken. From other countries, it varies also, but a year (give or take some months) can be a reasonable expectation.

Ofcourse if you're Angelina Jolie the adoption time is cut significantly.
