I thought if you could make it work via time, holidays, night classes etc any degree can be done in a shorter time as long as you fulfill all the requirements and complete all the units required. You would just be working your butt off until you finished.

RMIT is a bona fide university and is in the top 100 universities in the world, according to The Times Higher Education Supplement.
To enter the RMIT degree programmes for a two-year course you need a (usually higher) diploma to gain the exemptions, which you said you do not have.

Which one are you considering? The reason I ask is that they all appear to require exemptions for acceptance on a 1 or 2 year course.
I know of a European uni which has PT degree courses in HK which can be completed in 15-18 months. The problem is that the entry requirements is a diploma, one of the following:
* Polytechnic Diploma in business, management, accountancy, banking, finance, industrial management or related Engineering, IT, computing or technical areas.
* Diploma/Advanced Diploma awarded by Asia Pacific School of Management or equivalent qualifications such as DMS, DSM, CIM, CII, etc.
* Diploma/Advanced Diploma from private institutions (subject to approval)
* ACCA, CAT, AAT, LCCI Diploma
Alternatively, do a 1-year diploma, say with HKMA which has an English one, and find a Uni doing an MBA which does not require a first degree. Ther are some like that although they may not be first tier (if that's important to you). It's possible to get an MBA within 2 years from scratch if you work your butt off.

I know someone who was going to do the DBS and then an MBA but decided not to because she would have to explain the whole no-first-degree thing, plus she felt it was a bit of a jump going from a diploma to an MBA studying-wise.
I did my Masters many, many years after my first degree and found the whole classroom/studying thing a challenge. Loved doing it though. I don't remember the same satisfaction after completing my first as my Masters, I really appreciated more as an adult. I hope you do to. Good luck.
