I am looking for sandals for my one year old. He is walking very well but I find the usual sandals to heavy. He is normally wearing the Shoo Shoes but the are closed and to hot for the summer.

Try footstop on Pottinger street. (#10 Pottinger) They will measure your child's foot (both since they often are different sizes) and find the proper fit for your child's foot. i'm not sure if they have shoes for 1 year old, but when I was there for my daughter this past weekend there was a massive sale, shoes 50% off, and lots of cute boys styles. If you're not picky about color (why should you be when they will outgrow them in under 6 months) there was a HUGE selection for boys. (a bit more limited for girls.) Anyways, the staff there is lovely, incredibly helpful and patient. My husband bellowed, "find me all the sandals in my daughters size on sale." She had to try on about 20 pairs - but we left with three pairs, all for $650. Great deal.

Or you can also try Mothercare. Last time I went to the one in Prince's Bldg (about a month ago), they had really nice and cute sandals for 1-2 y.o. And the price is about HK$155-165, if I'm not mistaken.

Good Luck!

I went to Footstop yesterday and picked up a pair of sandals. They are very good quality but not cheap (paid over 500 for one pair. But they are worth it.

The day before I went to Mothercare as well. They have some sandals and I bought a pair but they didn't fit (to narrow to slip in) so I will return them. Also the quality (made in China) cannot be compared to the ones from Footstop. I think it's important to get good quality shoes since the early shoes also help to form the foot.

This is just for your info in case someone else needs to look around as well.
