I have been diagnosed with having fibroids in the womb. I have not been given much choices by the doctor except to have it removed via an operation. On the other hand, I've heard and read other solutions and found that the operation is not the only option - there's the progesterone cream or change of diet. Can anyone comment on this please?
Also, I feel because HK doctors can sometimes be very commercialised, that they prefer to tell you to do a cost-oriented operation rather than preventative method which may work but are less costly. I feel very worried and more over do not have the complete trust one should have in the doctors. I'm contemplating go back to the UK to have this checked. Please advise if anyone has had Fibroids and what options were you given in HK. what about change of Diet? or the Progesterone Cream? Is this available in HK? Does it work? Thanks so much for your support.

Not sure whether you've taken a look at the following thread:

I had my fibroid removed many years ago, back then, I didn't have much choice because of where the fibroid was located, it would have affected the foetus if I was pregnant. I was about to get married then so children were a possibility.

Thanks you guys for all your supportive words.
ppb: I have always had heavy periods but the period cramps became unbearable and i decided to see a gyn. This was how I found out. I have started eating more healthily, no caffeine especially. In the last 2months my coffee intake quadrupled. I also found that coffee prevent zinc from being absorbed into the body which is essential for hormone balance. I want to try out all other alternatives first and leave surgery as a last resort. Also, I was told i could just monitor it with regular scans to see progress.
But any advise you can all give would be very much appreciated. Thanks to all of you that replied. I appreciate all your thoughts.
thanks
