If you think you look good wearing what you wear, that's what matters.

i like the way ellen barkin put it:

"I have no problems with being 50 and scantily clad appropriately, but I won't go out in a dress over my knee anymore. It is over. Forget it. Find something else that is important about you other than your a$$."

I always say to younger women than me when they start being so sure and c*cky of their youth to wait till they be my age and hope to go the way i am going. See most women nowadays dont age gracefully. And that friend of yours is surely having already some issues about it herself thus the comment. Next time you get remarks like that, give the best smile you could give.

See I am in my late 40's and i cant find a single skirt/dress that is not at least six inches above my knees. And nobody could believe my age whenever I am asked.

Maybe because I am a retard?

Overheard in a clothes shop:

"Well I may be 50 but I feel 20, so I'm going to dress 20."

Although the woman had a good figure, the mini-mini skirt and tight lycra top she was wearing screamed "desperately trying to pretend I'm a nubile young thing."

As Ellen Barkin said, there is a time to call it a day on some things. Otherwise we're just like the men who get toupees, red sports cars and trophy wives - or Cher.

Hey dont ditch your friend just because she said something you don't like. I prefer friends that tell me the brutal truth than those who say nice things in front of you then bitch behind your back.

I have seen women in their 30, 40s who still look good in a mini skirt (but not many.) If you're one of those, good on you.

Unfortunately there are way too many who should have ditched the mini skirt a decade earlier.

I have a colleague (big office, so not very close) who dresses quite absurdly. Frankly, she doesn't have the figure and is a bit past the age for such outfits, and the clothes that she wears are not suitable for the office. ( black spaghetti tops with see-through netting, lace/organza multitiered mini skirt (ra-ra skirt) with ankle length boots, bright pink poufy skirt with bright pink 'sexy' top.

When you have male colleagues commenting on her-well you know you're not being judgemental.

Perhaps you aren't that close to the girl, and are shocked/insulted by her uninvited comment. But if your spouse or sister told you that, would you take it the same way? (i.e take away the person, would the opinion be worth checking out)
