Outside Apartment Noise - HELP!

Hi,


I recently moved into an waterfront apartment in Manhattan Heights, Kennedy Town. Biggest problem is the noise from the harbour work constantly wakes me up in the middle of the night. I've tried ear plugs and heavy curtains but nothing seems to work. Aside from moving, any ideas?

Although this doesn't sound very helpful, it's true for most people that they become accustomed to the noise so give it some time.

Sorry to have to tell you this....but get used to it! There is nothing you can do about the noise created by ships on the harbour, trucks, renovations, fire alarm testing, people yelling into their phones or dogs barking!

To Jane - Thanks for your reply! I have heard of these noise cancelling machines. Any idea where to buy one in HK.
