Can anyone recommend a good all-round thermometer for a newborn up? Thanks!

We use a digital thermometer (ear or forehead) - but after we got this I saw a nicer and cheaper one at ToysRUs I think...

We like digital as we don't need to put it anywhere difficult :)

We also use a digital ear thermometer (Braun, which our doctor uses). But according to our doc, they're not that reliable. The underarm/under tongue/etc type thermometers are more reliable but you have to hold them in place for a few minutes before you get a reading. Doing that with a sick squirming toddler is usually impossible. The ear thermometer only takes a few seconds so is much easier.

I've always used the Braun thermoscan. It may not be as reliable as other methods but it's sufficient for me just to confirm whether my son has a fever.

Thanks everyone. Where can I buy the Braun thermoscan? There also seem to be lots of fancy ones at Bumps to Babes. Anyone uses those? Any good?

You can get the Braun thermoscan at any large electrical appliances chain such as Broadway and Fortress.
