HELP!! My 2 year old is persistently waking around 430 am and wanting to start his day. If we let him cry, he wakes his older sister and we have 2 children up. He will not resettle except occasionally if one of us stays in his room. We've tried him in our bed, even the stroller as a last resort. It is driving me insane. Suggestions please....

Have you been giving vitamins or supplements after dinner? If so you should switch them to after breakfast.

Yes that what I would do. My daughter stopped her day time naps a 2 years. Mabe also try putting him to bed a little later. GOOD LUCK

have a look at whats happening in the day, does he take a morning nap, if so this may be perpetuating the early waking. Does he have some quiet books/toys he could play with if he wakes early. Try to keep him in his room, you may have a few difficult early mornings (with your other child potentially waking too) but this should be shortlived once he gets the message. If you sit with him in his room give minimal attention so as not to 'reward' him for waking. Hope this helps.

Deborah,
when, in your experience, do babies usually drop the morning nap? my baby used to sleep from 7:30 to 7:30 (sometimes waking even after 8) but since being ill a month ago (also requiring hospitalisation) she's been having frequent night wakings and waking up at around 6am.
she also used to have a long nap in the morning from around 9:15-11 and then 1-2 short ones in the afternoon. now it's really hard to get her down into her cot during the day as she will scream and if she does sleep it's only for 30min in the morning and 45min early afternoon.
thanks!
