how to entertain 19 week old baby?

my bub has always been a v wakeful baby so he naps about 2-3 hours in total everyday. everyday in the late afternoon, we go out for a walk before bathtime and bedtime.


BUT during the day, he is restless and attention seeking. i know he is just a baby but as a full-time mom with a once weekly cleaner, i have many things to handle at home besides baby. i cannot possibly carry/play with him all the day long. i alternate between his bouncy chair and his playpen (with his playgym inside). for the playpen, i usually sit next to him while i do my own things so that he won't feel alone. but that doesn't really satisfy him.


we already attend a weekly playgym outside and my hubby spends all weekend playing with him. does anyone know any tips to keep my baby amused on his own or does he just need to learn some independence? my hubby thinks as he grows older and can crawl, things will get better because he is only starting to roll so can't be that fun spending all his time on his back!

I totally agree with Cara. Mine needed constant attention as well and wouldn't settle for any toys left in the playpen. It got better when he started to crawl as he could get his own toys and wasn't so frustrated that he couldn't move around.


Enjoy while you can. It doesn't get any easier when they start walking ... you constantly run after them.
