I'm asking about the one month celebration of a baby, hk people usually have a big party on that day. Is it called full month party, one month celebration, etc? Has anyone attended it? is it still a norm here to give out 2 red eggs to guests? thanks.

I stand corrected. In Chinese it's "Mun Yuet", or Full Moon.

Thanks everyone, so it's called Full Moon party.

Do i need to give out 2 red dyed eggs to guests? I supposed it is hard boiled eggs, and what about the ginger? i don't know how to prepare this ginger.

Yes, it's for my baby that's why i'm asking what are the traditions here in Hk, i am a chinese.

In Sg, we give out cakes, there's also few companys who does a goody bag kit that already has 2 eggs, glutinous rice, cakes, etc. So no need to prepare at all.

Hi raincatcher, the ginger dish looks complicated, it's okay to skip that one? but not the 2 eggs?

Hi Aspect, pls let me know what do they give out. thanks. And don't worry, i'll make sure nobody smokes ;-)

thanks everyone, i plan not to have it in a chinese restaurant, maybe in our clubhouse and i'll have it catered. I'll ask the caterer if they can provide the eggs and ginger.
