sorry i was trying to cheer you up here....have u told the helper her main job is to take care of your dog when u sign her? just talk to her that it is not working out if she doesnt like dog...simple...no need to stress....

No big deal; sometimes we hire someone and they just don't work out.
Tell her it isn't going to work out, and let her go. Otherwise, you'll just cause yourself more stress tolerating a situation that is unsatisfactory.
You just hired her, she's in a probationary period, every new hire understands that. Sack her -- nicely.

Talk to her, explain to her your expectation, see if she improves in a week or two.
If you do decide to let her go, some people give 1 month notice thus not having to pay the 1-month salary.
If you release her right away, without 1 month notice, then you have to give her 1 month salary in lieu.
Then... of course, in both case, the one way return ticket.
And the most important thing: to write a letter addressed to Foreign Domestic Helper Section in Immigration Dept, to inform them her last wroking day (then I believe, she can only stay in HK another 2 weeks from that date).

Your poor dog.... left with a stranger that hate's it. The maid must be unhappy too, why not just buy her the ticket home and let her go. There's plenty of helpers that would love to take care of a dog and take it out for walkies.

I agree, it seems that she knew her main job was to take care of your dog. If she is complaining about it from day one its not going to get better. Sack her, pay her one months salary, inform Immigration and send her home. Next time ensure you interview a few maids before hiring one. Make sure they like your dog and he/she likes the maid.

I'm an animal lover myself have owned dogs and cats but the way people treat their dogs here is stupid. They get treated way better than the helpers!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, it's only a dog!! but the dog is innocent.
Her maid is unhappy and bored, such frustration is not good when she's alone with the dog all day.

You are right! dogs are such sensitive animals, they also know when you're happy/sad/angry... I wish I can take my dog to work too but I am a employee and he's staying with my neighbour during day time (which has a few dogs and she loves mine too).
