You need a squeezebox.

It's a network music player that can stream music from any live internet radio station, Pandora, AlienBBC, Sirius Radio, XM Radio, or music stored in a local PC in your house. Use it with some powered computer speakers and you have the ultimate alarm clock!

I listen to RTHK4, which is a classical music station with commentary in a mixture of English and Cantonese (mostly English when I'm listening), and English news on the hour. Can't remember the frequency (it's FM) but if you look up the RTHK web site it should tell you.

I agree that HK radio leaves a lot to be desired, but I actually quite like Radio 3 - have it on most of the day.

Freq. is 567 on AM

Or there is 864 on AM, which seems to be all music and news on the hour.

But doesn't this strike you as odd? It is broadcast on the 'old' AM frequency. Go under a bridge or in a tunnel and the reception is lost. RTHK is also broadcast on FM but in different frequencies and in limited areas. Why can't they move into the 21st century and broadcast in FM across HK? How hard could this be?

This gets me onto another point, have you noticed how the news is recorded at the start of the day and then just replayed every hour? Radio is supposed to be immediate and not just full of replays.

We all have different tastes and should be tolerant of that. I listened to Radio 3 for 8 years and thought their range of news and interviews some of the best I have heard in NZ, Oz, UK and US. Try it at 567AM or ???FM and make your own mind up.

There's always BBC World. About 675.0 on the AM band, from memory (previous comments as to snap, crackle and pop do apply, though)
