Hi,
We just moved here last week and are looking for the best primary school for a 5 year old. I know the best answer is the one with the shortest waiting list, but we can wait for the best if there's any recommendations from out there? We did start the process before we moved with Kennedy, but have heard some bad things about it so are not sure now. We have lived in HK before, but not with children.

There is no such thing as the 'best' school! It really is what is good for your child... all schools in HK have a bit of the good and the bad. Really I feel it all depends on the teacher and how much you involve yourself in your childs education. Kennedy is a very good school, the new principal has done wonders apparently and I know a lot of parents who are very happy with the school.

Having spent a long time looking at various schools here and taking into consideration many different factors, one of them being that I plan on staying in Hong Kong for a while I also looked at secondary schools. Having quite a few friends who have children at both Kennedy and West Island who have all been very pleased with both schools my preference was Kennedy - unable to get a place and not being in the position of being able to wait I went with an all through international school which was not my first choice. What seems to be "best" for some is not for others and in most cases if not all a school is only as good as its teachers.

Thanks to all. We have a place at Kennedy so will proceed with that.
