Went to buy some materials in a fantastic shop in a lane near the CITIC building - I can try to remember the address if you are interested. Anyway, the staff there were very helpful - suggested either the Arts Centre (I haven't investigated their classes yet) or to check out www.artamaze.com (but classes seem to be during the day)
If anyone knows of evening classes in English I'd be interested too.

realised I had a bit of a brain blip - I didn't mean CITIC Tower I meant COSCO Tower...!
The address is 2/F Harvest Building, Wing Kut Street.
If you can picture COSCO Tower and The Center there are a number of lanes that run between them from Queen's Road to Des Voeux Road (Gilman's Bazaar, Wing Kut Street and Wing Wo Street). Wing Kut Street is the one in the middle, the Harvest Building is nearer to Des Voeux Road than Queen's Road. I think it was about number 31???
