You could try different feeding positions so the teeth are not touching in the same position all the time. I know there's other techniques but you may have to speek to a profesional to help you with these. Good luck and please dont give up. Some numbers for you:

I know what you are talking about. My baby is 14 months now and I still bf as well.
I had the problem before that one breast was sore and even bleeding a bit and wouldn't heal because at each feed he would bite again and make it worse.
I just stopped feeding at the sore breast for a day and after that it was fine again.
Your baby is already nine months so no harm done if he gets less milk for a day.

That's all good advice above.
One time I had a real sore on my nipple and the only way I could feed her on that side was lying down with her sort of upside down to me. Sounds strange, but it didn't bother her in the least, was comfortable for me, and once my nipple wasn't being directly irritated, it healed immediately. Like, in a day. Be creative :-)

I followed Ruth's advice when my daughter mangled my nipples during a particularly bad teething spell (both were bitten to the point of having holes in). I would tell her she was hurting me, remove her from the boob and she very quickly stopped using me as a teether! Also slathered my nipples with Lansinoh cream during this time which helped with the pain I was in - she's now 18 months and we're still feeding so it does work!

Waffle HK, of course it's great to perservere but something that hasn't been said is that it is also ok if you feel like you need to stop breastfeeding. You will not be failing anybody. Your baby has been given your goodness for many many months now which is a big bonus. I am certainly a pro-breastfeeder and fed both of my kids for 13 months, however, there comes a time when it just doesn't happen anymore for whatever reason and quite often, it's the baby that makes your mind up for you. It is not a cop-out. I think it would be better to stop while you're ahead rather than cringe and just wait for those teeth to sink in every time you breastfeed. I remember those times! Yiiiiikes... Look, it may get better, but, of course if it continues, there may be no other option but to stop and breastfeeding should be a pleasure!

My husband thought it weird when my daughter was 14 months and still sucking on my boob - he said it just surprised him that she would still eat. (by the way, my daughter had a almnost full set of chompers by a year) But it was such a special time for the two of us - I loved doing it. I only stopped because I discovered I was pregnant and decided to wean at that time.
Bfeeding is wonderful - and benefits to your child are tremendous, not that formula isn't also an option either. If your breast is still sore from the feeding, perhaps pumping will be less painful and you can give your breast a break from the chomping teeth. It's probably better in the long run, however, to teach your baby how to eat with her teeth.
Good luck...this too shall pass. Before you know it, it's a whole new ball game...they eat solids, and they don't necessarily want your breast all the time.
