Hi

I have two children in grade 10 and 8. Could someone recommend a good school at a reasonable price in Shanghai.

Thanks

What do you mean by reasonable? Most of the big international schools in Shanghai charge US$20,000 plus for yearly tuition.

Personally, I think $20 000 a year is unreasonable. We did not pay this much in our last posting for an IB school. Are there good schools with expat kids that are not so expensive?

Thanks Helen

I don't think US$20,000 is reasonable either, that's how much my college tuition was years ago. Most of the kids at schools which charge this tuition will have a company paying for them.

There are more affordable schools in Shanghai. I know some friends who have put their kids in "special" local schools in that they accept foreigners but be prepared for the rigorous Chinese curriculum.

There is another school called Shang Hai Zhong Xue (not sure of the English name) which offers IB and has an international stream. SMIC school is also a popular choice - www.smicschool.org.

Hi, helencherry

I noticed that you are the one who replied me about ISPP. I have posted a reply asking a few more questions. If you don't mind, would you take a look at the ISPP thread again?

Sorry I cannot help you with schools in Shanghai. Thanks.
