Hi all, my husband and I just moved to HK. We are both celebrating our bdays next week, so its a very special time for us. Can you give us nice dinner place suggestions? Also, I saw the 2 for 1 dinner Ad in the site with a list of restaurants as well - which ones are highly recommendable? Preferably Italian, American, or French food. Thanks in advance.

Try Gaia for Italian, and La Tire Bouchon for French. American ... hmmmm ... you mean steakhouses. Then it must be Mortons. The Bostonian at the Langham Hotel in TST is also good.

Also M @ the Fringe is the most romantic restaurant I have been to in Hong KOng and it does fabulous food. So is Gaia very good? I always see it on my way to fitness first and am very curious...

Amigo in Happy Valley is pretty good for dinner. There is a small band (3 musicians) that will come to your table and play songs of your choice to serinade you while you eat.

Italian... yes Gaia would get my vote too, also nice and romantic is Nicholinis in the Conrad, or slightly cheaper Habitu but get a harbour view seat. French .. Caprice in the four seasons is wonderful

If you want excellent food and beautiful but interesting deco, go to FINDS. It is Scandinavian because place looks like ice palace, very cozy though but food is excellent western food. Amazing steak, amazing home smoked salmon...everything is good. Also still reasonable. Friday night will be packed but other nights ok. I go regulary. Number is 2522 9318.
