I am looking for some advice. I have hust invested in an HDTV with HDMI input and I now want to get a HD DVD player to complement it. The poor quality of my current DVD player is now more apparent than ever!

I don't want to spend a fortune on one and have been advised that the best one for price value is the Denon 1910. It retails for about US$200-US$250.

I will look for one in Hong Kong, but I am interested if anyone else has any advice on this matter

hwo are you connecting your current DVD to your new TV? If you are not using a component cable (actually 3 cables - red blue green)try that

As for the Denon the DVD 1920 is an award winner in the UK and is less than HK$3000... in fact thinking of buying it myself!

The cables I am using now are red, yellow and white - What are they?

Wouldn't it be much better with a HDMI input. The Denon 1920 is the machine I was referring to, sorry.

I guess they are red & white stereo sound and yellow for the picture whta is called a "composite"

the component cables are three cables just for the picture hence the better quality

if your current dvd has a component feed this should give better picture for small cash outlay

good luck!
