No assets have been distributed. Is that from the estate (i.e. your brother hasn't even received abnything) or to you (i.e. your brother has received but has not passed anything over to you)? If the former then have you asked your brother what's happening? There's a good chance that there's a legal hold-up of some sort, or maybe the solicitor handling the affairs needs a jolt. But if it's the latter then that's going to be a bit more awkward. Verbal agreements can be VERY risky. If the worst has happened you might have a hard time proving that your father's will was written that way to protect your inheritance from your wife. You need to be talking to your brother first. As for taking advice from complete strangers (like me)...

If your father wrote in the will to leave everyting to your brother, you do not have a share. In such a case, your brother can keep everything.

As a starting point, you need to sort out the jurisdictional issues first. Importantly, where was the will executed? (I am presuming that you are an expat). Obviously, the will is an important document reflecting the intention of the testator. However, in some jurisdictions, offspring cannot be excluded from the will, unless they are guilty of disentitling conduct.
