What is a good hostel (dormitory) near the Central MTR station on Hong Kong Island?

I think you might be pushing it to find dormitory accommodation 'near Central MTR station'. Just the wrong area! The good news, though, is that nowhere in HK is really all that far from anywhere else, and public transport is excellent.

My friend just stayed in Olympic Terrace Suites they are serviced apartments in Sham Shui Po area, just a few minutes from two MTR stations, brand new, great views and service and the one bedroom apartment cost her just $380HK a night - BARGAIN. You can find them through this website under serviced apartments.

Try the Youth Hostel on Mount Davis, look it up on YHA website, about 20 minutes by taxi from Central MTR. Fabulous views over Lamma/Lantau.
