Is anyone able to recommend an English speaking doctor near or in Causeway Bay? I would love it if she were female. Even better, if she's willing to write a needed 'excused from work' note for days I'm simply snotting all over the place due to a cold or allergy attack (or cramping horrendously) and simply need to spend the day in bed.
What IS that, by the way? Does anyone else's employer require the antiquated 'doctor's note' to be paid their salaried sick days?!?! I mean, come on... if I'm sick enough to not be able to go to freakin' work, how the heck am I supposed to be well enough to get out of bed and find/fight my way to a doctor's office?!?!

That's my experience too. In fact there was quite an article recently about the doctors' assocation (whatever it's called here) clamping down on doctors giving such certificates without actually treating the patient. Maybe not exactly what you're thinking of. In fact you probably won't have that much of a hard tiome finding one. Maybe if you're feeling THAT bad then you SHOULD be seeing a doctor.
