IRIS is a government site (www.iris.GOV.HK).

Or should we wait till you've had your quota of coffee this morning...

BTW, shouldn't this be under Property Chat... ?

I tried it on my home address without any problem. You don't have to fill in all the sections, just one, e.g. street name or development name.

[Perhaps next time do the search before happy hour, aka 12 noon.]

I was thinking of putting link to this on our property site however its too much of a mess and I think we'll lose 90% of the people we send there... will keep searching for something better... i think centaline might have something like this.

I was going to mention Centaline but didn't because a) it doesn't have a search feature, b) it don't have Historical records (as mentioned in thread title) and c) to might be deleted.

The IRIS site can provide the kind of historical search which professionals require. Perhaps stick with the Centaline one for its basic price comparisons which suits people wanting to know if they got/are getting a good price.

We'll look at adding a link to Centalines transaction page next to the prices on each property listing here:

Our property channel has become massively popular since we launched it about 6 months ago - any thoughts on how we can improve it?

I know it's under Resources, but include the link to Centamap under Find A Home, and perhaps on the Property Listings page. People might be more likely to consider a listing if there is a quick way to check its location. And Centamap - when it's up - includes transport searches, again important for someone unfamiliar with an area.

Thinking that high - quality photos of each district might be useful - along with a description below.

Anyone know of a company that might have some shots like this that we could purchase? I am trying to get in touch with the guys who do the book Over Hong Kong - but open to others...

Sean Bayliss takes commercial photos and has some stock photos on Alamy.

Also the HKSAR Government offers digital aerial photos in B&W or colour. Most are vertical but there are some oblique ones. TIFF format, 300 MB for B&W, 1.1GB for Colour - a much higher resolution than you'll need for the site. $530 a piece (plus copyright charges = No. of copies x Data Charge of Digital Map x (Area of extract / Area of original) x4%).
