hi all,
i can't get a credit card in HK and i'm baffled. i lived in HK for 3 years and had an HSBC credit card, left for a year and cancelled the card. i then returned to HK and have been here for two years since with full HKID / work visa / etc. i have applied three times for credit cards since i returned to HK and keep getting rejected. historically, i always paid my bills on times and never had any deliquencies. anyhow, does anyoone know if there are any credit reporting agencies (similar to TRW in the states) who i can contact to review my credit history in HK? many thanks.

Thank you raincatcher, I was looking for an agency to get my credit history reports. Will try with Transunion.
Asia2004, I was pissed of by HSBC HK when trying for a Credit Card even I'm having a Visa Card with HSBC in other country which I planed to cancel if approved by HSBC HK. Got a NO-NO answer, I went to Citibank HK and got a Credit card quite easy. (I'm not HKID holder)

You can get a standard credit card with Citibank if you pledge a time deposit (Min US$4,000). Other banks may do too with lesser amt but mine is a silver one with Citibank.
