Am looking for somewhere for parents to stay for 2 weeks last week Nov/first week Dec. Have tried 2 MacD Rd and YWCA - first is HKD1500/night and YWCA is HKD1750/night. Does anyone have any idea of a slightly cheaper alternative in close proximity to MacD Rd? Serviced apartments?

you could try Bishop Lei on Robinson Road, not as nice and a bit further, but cheaper.

Did you say HKD1750/night for YWCA? That is such a rip off. My corporate rate is HKD 1800 for island shangrila and hkd2200 for four seasons.
There are a few hotels in causeway bay (parklane, excelsior) that are around the 1K mark. Try also Island Pacific hotel in Sheung Wan.

Double check with the YWCA. The $1750 is the "daily rate" and it's possible to reduce it for a longer booking.

Also double check on 2 MacD Rd. They charge much cheaper on a longer term basis. But what is your budget like?

A month at The Building, on Bonham Road, is only around $14-15,000 for a simplex room (includes a kitchenette). No idea what a couple of weeks is though.
