I know the markets carry ballet attire but I need to get proper ballet shoes. The ones I have seen in the markets are more like play slippers.
Anyone know where I can buy proper ballet shoes.
I tried looking for Fonteyn in Wanchai as stated above but could not find it...Maybe I was in the wrong part of Thomson Rd.
Any suggestion on shoes from anyone?

gyong> Call Fonteyn to check its location. 1D suggests it is on the first floor so you might not see it unless you look up. It sells Gamba and Freed(both make pointe shoes) so although your little one will not need those for several years, if they sell pointe shoes they will sell the leather ones for young 'ballerinas'.

Thanks Claire..I'll try them again.
I just happend to be in Wanchai and took a walk down Thompson but the address numbers were 70 to 140..I eventually hit the MTR. Think I was in the wrong place. Is there another part of Thomson Rd. somewhere?

Thomson Road is a strange one. It stops and starts with Southorn Playground/Stadiu/Centre going through the middle. You need the part which is near Luard Road.
You can do a street/number search on the Yellow Pages map for its exact location.

Green....don't take offense. I meant ballet shoes that will stay on my daughters feet. The shoes I saw in the markets here were just slip on types that look more like slippers than the shoes that have the leather sole at the toe and heal.
Unfotunately I don't make it out to Mongkok much and have no desire to walk the whole market in search for one pair of shoes. I'll keep your suggestion in mind next time I travel to Mongkok though.
Thanks again.
