I know it might sound a silly question, but here in QLD, the working women's fashion wardrobe is quite different than in Melbourne or Sydney. Thus, my question. Not wanting to particularly stand out like a shining tourist, what are the best clothes to wear in HK whilst working in office then travelling?? How much flesh to expose etc....stockings or no stockings, flat or high heels etc...??

I can't give you advice on the fashion becasue I work out of the city in a very relaxed environment but definately shop before you come. Clothes here are not like NZ or Australia esp. in regards to sizes and to start with you will be too busy with other stuff.

Fashion? Is there office fashion in HK? :)
What you wear at the office will depend on the company you join - some have strict dress codes and some have more casual approach especially during the summer months.

I agree with expatinhk in that it does depend on your company and industry. In our office suits are required for meetings and otherwise women have it a little easier and can wear business smart (ie skirt and shirt, trousers and top etc combos). In summer I see lots of people wearing stockings but there is no way I can stand that. Need to consider the heat in summer vs the aircon in the office. Agree with allynz - buy in Aust before you come here as the selection is much better especially if you are size 12 and up or more than a size 40 shoe.
