flat screen TV advice

We are seeking advice on buying a flat screen LCD TV in Hong KOng.

We have done the rounds of the shops from Fortress on down and are as confused as ever.

LCD seems to be better than than Plasma, but the prices vary incredibly with unknown Chinese or other makes offering the cheapest deals and Sony often more than twice as expensive.

We were thinking about a 42 inc wall mounted model and a good sound is essential.

The salesmen like to explain about the pixels and durablity of the better screens but half the time the images look similar and the picture quality could come down to a simple tone adjustment.

We have a tight budget in the 10000 to 15000 range so would need to find a good deal.
