I'm travelling to Geneva. What's the safest way to pack my laptop and other electronic appliances in my check-in luggage?

Most insurance companies will not cover laptops and electronic appliances packed in check-in luggage. Would be best to carry on board.

Due to the travel regulations, gabb might not be able to carry it as hand luggage.

1. check with airline today, and again on day you are travelling to see most recent rules.

2. if you do need to pack it, you might want to get a 'hard' laptop case, with foam lining, and then put this in your suitcase, well padded.

3. As per above comment, it is a good idea to check with your insurance company or if you are travelling on business your company policy regarding damage.

4. If you are concerned, I would make a back up of all critical documents on an external hard drive before travelling and leave that in HK in case of loss or damage.

good luck!
