Can't beat sitting on the top deck of the tram from Sheung Wan down to Skeiki Wan (?spelling). From West to East of HK Island. Takes just over an hour, costs $2 and you pass through all aspects of HK from up market to real life outside markets.

hkchoichoi,

Any foot massage places in happy valley that you recommend? Any that won't hurt your feet?

The tram is great, it is rarely crowded with tourists, residents yes but not necessarily tourists.

Thanks

fairladyo5,

The tram gets crowded at peak times (beginning and end of day)not by tourists but locals. I make sure all my visitors take the tram ride and they love it. I get on it either down near Western Market or near Pacific Place and get on and off if my visitors see something they want to explore further. Costs $2 each time you get off and if you stay from one end to the other it is only $2. It's great for taking photos from the top deck.

It has Sheiku Wan on the front of the tram. If coming from the Eastern side of the island it will have Sheung Wun. There is also a Tram to Happy Valley which is also interesting. When I first arrived in HK a few years ago I took the ride about once every two weeks. I love it.

Easiest option is to to take the MTR to Shau Kei Wan (Island Line) and then hop on the tram at the terminus there. Decide whether you want to get off at North Point, Causeway Bay, Wanchai, Pacific Place, Central, or Sheung Wan. You can do this between 10am and 4pm and probably get the front seats on the top deck.

The place I always went to - can't remember the name - but it is bang opposite the Race Track near where all the trams stop. It's got an orange and purple business card - which I don't have. It's not posh looking - but they ask you if you want it hard or soft. (I like it more gentle, my husband likes them to beat up his feet.) Very good. You can always go in and if you have a big group they will get you all suited out with a foot massage.
