Where did you get your bra fitting? I'd like to find a consultant for some advice.

ChonJay, a stupid middle-aged Chinese (looks like he's from Mainland China) man just stared at my boobs which aren't big at all (I'm a 34A or 34 B, depending on which brand of bras I buy). I was in the lift with him and there were only two of us. I felt quite scared, to be honest.

I never notice the attention on myself because I have small breasts but I know about those stares at women with big boobs. This was really the first time that someone stared at my boobs (due to their small size) and I absolutely hate this!!!

chonJay>>>> lighten up gal....i dont mean anything serious about it but i just think people should be proud of who they are. And no your immature assuption that I like big breast is in fact not true. Dont be so defensive and try to find a sense of humor. You obviously have issues.

Streepfan>>> no offense intended if it came across that way.

streepfan, thank god someone has a sense of humor. Yeah one of my staff has the same problem and infact she is considering a reduction. I know in HK gals get stared at alot, I have experienced it with gf's and gal pals and its really quite rude but then again its better to be noticed than to be missed. Be proud of yourself and dont let people bother you with their lack of discretion.

Lets limit the participation of males in this forum to tips on hairdressing ... otherwise the floodgates to mayhem will be left open

Thanks

ED, with respect i dont see the need for people to be rude or abusive to anyone in the forums regardless of the thread. My comment did not offend the author so I dont see that is was a problem.

In my business it is a common issue discussed with clients and my comment was to take a lighter side to the subject. I would think after wearing the wrong size for so many years it would be a relief to be more comfortable and think thats a good thing. The thread was not turned sexist until Chonjay made it so with her rude comments. I also thought people were not allowed to attack others in the forums to.

Streepfan, you haven't answered my question yet. Where did you get your bra fitting? I'd like to find a consultant for some advice.

Hey, if you can't discuss boobs with your hairdresser, who can you discuss them with? PS, I have large puppies myself and have grown to appreciate them!!!

I wouldn't like my breasts become the subject of discussion with my hairdresser.

chonjay, unfortunately you are the only one offended by my humor and i am sorry you took it that way but there was no reason for you to start name calling.

I dont disagree with your issues they are very valid but this issue is not about you or I.

Again i appolagise for offending you or anyone, it was not my intention at all.

D-Man - problem is in the past we have had men posting all sorts of unacceptable crap on this forum so we decided not to allow their participation on here.

There's no problem with your comments - the problem is that if other males see non-hair/beauty comments from men they will insist on participating and we run into another hassle with editing.

Ed, absolutely. I appolagise. I will keep my coments to my expertise. No offence intended.

Wow! This is an interesting thread! I agree with chonJAY. I can see how she took D-Man's post to be of offence. And I dont like the man to always check me out either!!

I thought about having my boobs made smaller for quite a number of years and then i literally stumbled upon 'bra fitting'.

I am a perfect 36dd and use to be quite embarrased about them, but then i realised i could wear plunge bras, show some cleavage (but not too much during the day) and now i feel incredibly proud of them plus they are earning me a pretty penny (about time they gave ME something back).

So embrace them and love them, there are an awful lot of women out there that would love boobs our size, and the men looking......well they're just dreaming about the what if's......

And D-Man, loved your chat!

Hey Folks, it's not just the stares and whistles and rudeness and being treated like a piece of meat that're the problems with breasts that are overly large for the skeletal framework. It's not acceptable in many western cultures for women to go outside the home without wearing a bra, despite all our bra burning and attempts at liberation over the past few decades. I've even worked in a number of offices that in their dress code required women to wear a bra (although they never require a man to wear a jock strap; I guess men will be distracted at work by braless women but women won't be bothered by men hanging loose and free). And bras can be hell on your body if you have overly large breasts. As a licensed massage therapist I've had many women clients who literally have permanent "trenches" in their shoulders from bra staps that have been supporting too great a weight for too many years. They often have chronic upper back, neck and shoulder pain from the spine being pulled out of alignment, and frequently have chronic respiratory problems from the lungs and rib cage not being able to expand properly. Plus there's some studies which show a causal connection between certain types of breast cancer and wearing underwire bras, although this is controversial.

The main point is that there's a big difference between being proud of your body and how you look, and having inherited a physical conformation that causes discomfort and pain, as well as leaving you more open to being treated in an offensive manner by a portion of the population.

The "that's a problem because. . ." comment was flippant and showed a lack of consideration for a very real problem that the person starting the thread was trying to express. That's part of why it's engendered such a strong, emotional response from some people.

Personally, I'm small breasted, and thankful for it. I don't have nearly the same problems my overly endowed older sister has had to endure her entire life, although as a female I have also had to put up with the cat calls, whistles, and surreptious attempts to brush a hand against my chest. Let's face it, stupid people will be stupid no matter where you are, what the culture is like or what you do to avoid their rudeness.

I have 38E boobs and other than the cro-mag men that drool over them, or the drunk men(chinese and western) that think that grabbing hold of them will keep them upright, the most vicious critics have been other women.

I am proud of my boobs but not trashy about it but the amount of dirty looks I get when I walk into a bar from women is appalling.

I suppose sisterhood is only for the small breasted huh??

For a topic like this one, it'd better to leave us women alone. It's the "Women's Forum" anyway. What input can you men give? And if we are not asking for the other sex's advice. Only we women understand how it feels to be stared at and "raped" by the eyes of perverted men.

Bras are painful for large breasted women? I beg to differ - it'd be a damn sight more painful for me without....and not a pretty sight! This girl will be keeping hers firmly fastened thank you!

I'm 4 ft 10, 48 kgs... and since the age of 15 I've been a 32G... so I wouldn't worry too much streepfan. A couple of my girlfriends were quite surprised my size was that big. I do dress quite carefully though. lots of v-neck tops without showing too much cleavage. People sometimes stare but I guess there aren't that many large chests in this part of the world so perhaps they're just curious rather than lecherous. I've never felt particularly threatened by it.

I have to say though that although I strongly defend the right of women to dress however we please, in reality, the way others react to us depends quite a lot on how we dress and present ourselves... not necessarily the size of our boobs. I'm often amazed at the number of female acquaintances I've had who thrust their chests out to the extent that you don't notice anything else, and then complain that people (particularly men) stare. if you're medium to large, wear a wonder bra and a low cut top then it's difficult not to look, surely?!

As for fittings -I think I saw an ad in the List a few months ago for a lingerie shop near LKF that sells larger sizes so perhaps they do fittings. I can't remember the name though so I'll see if I can find it. Anyone else know the shop I mean?

Please support our advertisers:

But how about fitting for smaller/normal sizes?

Please support our advertisers:
Kikidee 20 yrs ago
I meant that if the shop sells larger sizes it's usually an indicator that it's a good bra shop and should do fittings regardless of size and know what they're talking about. they're usually the places with the best choice of bras no matter what your size.

BTW, what's a 'normal' size? Mine may be enormous but they're normal to me ;-)

Kikidee, by "normal" I meant the size that majority of the Chinese women have. Didn't meant to be rude. Sorry.
