Housing tax?

If a married couple are both working at the same establishment, which provides them with a flat, do they BOTH have their taxable income boosted by 10% for the housing benefit, or does only one person get it?

If an unmarried couple share a flat, do they both get the 10% boost, or can they claim the flat as a 'boarding house' and take a 4% boost?

For married couples, only one party gets to claim tax exemption.

In other words, one party has to take the 10% housing benefit increase, right? Any idea about if two people are roommates, but are unmarried?

Well, I found it.

Unmarried persons sharing employer-provided housing should claim it as a boarding house, and their income is increased 4% (not 10) each.

Get the person (husband or wife) who will benefit the most from the tax exemption. The same goes for children claiming tax benefits for supporting dependent parents, etc. -- i.e., only ONE of the children can claim exemption for EACH parent.
