Hotels recommendation in Koh Samui

We stayed at the Chaweng Regent Beach Resort about 4 years ago. We thought it was good. Small bungalow/cottage style accommodation. The resort is right on the beach. http://www.chawengregent.com/index.html

There are a number of restaurants in the area. Just 'up' the road opposite the resort was a nice restaurant serving seafood (actually most of the restaurants do). Cannot remember the name but the restaurant was an 'A' framed building and had a garden sitting area in the front and an air conditioned area towards the rear. It also had a band playing traditional music. It was good. Unless you are into the pub/band scene there isn't much happening at night in Samui, but it is entertaining just walking along the street. We attended a Thai cooking school for a one day course. It was fun. You might have to ask the resort for contacts - it was 4 years ago now :)
