I heard that only residents (assuming permanent residents) can get visas at the border at Lo-Wu? Is that true - anyone been recently?

Is it crazy to go to Shenzhen on a weekend?

I understand that UK and US nationals are in the list that cannot apply for visa in the border.

I only go on weekends and never find it a problem unless it is a public holiday/long weekend, then I try to stay away. Usually go through the border crossing around 10:00 then have a coffee & breakfast at BBC until the place wakes up.

Are you sure the 'C' on a ID card makes it easier? I am a PR and don't have a C so checked this link:

Ok, a bit clearer now! So non PR residents can use echannel at Lo Wu as well as PR. What about at airport?
