I will be staying in Hongkong with my daughter in the end of october. If I want to visit China I need a visum. I believe you have to have a visum every time you go out of Hongkong into the mainland. Can anyone tell me were the so called border is?

Thank you for the information Ruth. I like to make a trip from HK to Guilin. But to visit

Macao and Guangzhou is also attractive. I think I will take a visum for 2 times crossing the border. Just to make sure. I am from Holland.

I like it the best to visit the locations with an organised group as it is the first time I will visit China and I am 61 years old. I plan to book when I am in HK.

I am puzzeled by the information I get here in Holland, no possibilities for a hotel in Guilin from 1/10-7/10? Any idea?

And I planned to take my granddaughter Isabel, who lives in Hongkong (5 years)to nice places for a couple of days. I had better change into daytrips I presume.

How about holding British passport? Is it possible for British to get a visa on the spot at Luowu and Zhuhai? And is the fee the same or higher?
