I am looking to buy a laptop for travelling, light and with long battery life, anyone any ideas.

The there isnt much different between the laptops themselves, they both have models that are extremly portable. Asus are just that bit cheaper than the Vaio. Best thing to do would be to set your budget and then compare between the two brands. Personally i always went with the Asus (value for money) where as my partner went for the viao (slightly smaller).

I am using IBM x60 and bought an 8-cell Li-on battery. It lasts around 8 hours and it is so far so good. By the way, I bought the x60 from PCCW few months ago and it went with some gifts.
